tim, if you go the speedy sleeve route, i clean up the pulley surface with a wire wheel then lightly sand with some emery paper until smooth, you dont want any burrs on it. a lot of the speedy sleeves come with kind of a flange on one end so you can drive it on with a socket, then the flange end peels off the sleeve. i like to toss the pulley in the freezer overnite to shrink it a little, then the next day put the speedy sleeve in the presto fry daddy deep fryer (dont let the missus catch you doing this part) and heat it up for 5 minutes or so. the sleeve will just about drop on the pulley with a minumim effort. after installed, the seal will go right over the speedy sleeve.i use a little gun grease on the seal and on the speedy sleeve so the seal isnt dry when you finally start the motor.
