The rod pushes. Find the place where the pedal touches the tractor platform (where your feet are). Push on the pedal with your hand. it should have easy motion for a little, then push much harder. The distance from platform to pedal shank should be 1-1/8 to 1-1/4". Adjust the rod shorter (requires removing the pin, loosening the jamb nut, and turning the clevis on the threads, until the hand pressure freeplay is set. A grabby clutch will not be fixed doing this, but it will be correct. A grabby clutch will either get better with use, or not. If not it can be replaced without splitting the tractor. JimN
