A toggle band clamp might be able to be found that would take a lever action to lengthen. There are examples on some hose connections for low pressure hoses. Maybe one could be fabricated. Look at the method used by some large hose clamps found on Constant Velocity drive shaft boots, or the rims of some container drums. Ski boot or roller blade fasteners are also over center style clamps. Good thinking, but it might need a handle to keep it from being too hot to use. JimN
