That starter is for the A and B series as they used a push rod to enguage. You cannot turn the sw around. Take the starter back they gave you the wrong one. Starters for those series are listed either front or rear sw locations. Or you could make a heavier rod and push for starting. The original one isnt strong enough. Too many listings for the starters will list same starter for A,B and C but they are wrong.
