The length depends not on the length of the Spindle arms alone, but on the length of the steering lever at the bolster as a function of total mechanical advantage. The long bolt, under the arm mounting plate at the bolster (one of 4 bolts) limits the travel to the length of the gear teeth in the steering box. This limits the swing of the arm to the same travel as a narrow front end. The H and M have similar turning limits, so the length of the arms on the spindle is close to the same as the driving arm at the bolster. They are different on Hs and Ms. and do not mix. They are also different on aftermarket axles. As stated above, the geometry will allow easy long radius turns. JimN
