All you need is a compatible (with genny) 6 volt Voltage Regulator suitable for your Positive Ground tractor (assuming its as original and you keep it Pos ground as I recommend). The new VR must EITHER BE suitable for Pos Ground (if youre at Pos ground) orrrrrrrrrr suitable for BOTH Pos or Neg. THERES NO OTHER CONVERSION KIT NEEDED.............
In the event you have an adjustable 3 brush genny, Id set it for max charge........
DO NOT (remove it) use the wire that used to run from the LHBD switch down to the Gennys FLD post.
Wire
BAT on VR up to Load (NOT battery/starter) side of ammeter. That can be same wire that used to run from BAT on Cutout Relay up to ammeter
FLD on VR to gennys FLD post DONT run wire from FLD on Genny up to LHBD light switch)
ARM/GEN on VR to Gennys ARM post
THE NEW VR NEEDS A GOOD CASE/FRAME GROUND
POLARIZE THE GENNY BEFORE STARTING
If you use a 4 terminal VR post back for slightly different wiring or consult Bob M's Wiring Diagrams
