Over greasing the bushing in the distributor is not a problem. If you use excess grease it merely comes out the hole on the opposite side. There is no hole in the bushing for the grease to reach the shaft but rather you are putting the grease on the outside of the bushing where it can be absorbed into the bushing to lube the shaft.
If you over grease the front zerk, the one that lubes then reduction gears, grease can be forced through the inside of the distributor shaft bushing and get inside the distributor housing and get on the points.
