I thought about that also, so I went out to the shop and looked at an original saddle mount cut out relay that is hanging on the wall, and it appears that Mikes' voltage regulator MIGHT actually be setting lower than what that cut out relay would, so maybe that voltage regulator just needs to be repositioned?
