When I had the bowl out I noticed there was no screen on the top end that goes into the tank so I made a quick run to the local tractor shop and got one.
I cleaned the threads on the tank and bowl and added Permetex Non-Hardening Gasket and screwed it in.
It was still loose on the threads when I got it lined up with the line connection so at another 1/4 turn it was tight, but not lined up.
So I kept turning, at 1/2 turn it felt tighter than I liked but sloooooowly I turned it the other 1/2 turn to get it lined with the line again.
I thought sure the threads would strip but they didn't.
Put gas in it last night and today it is all dry and clean and looks terrific.
I usually fix something like that right away but with a lot of things going on I had let it slide. Wasted a lot of gas doing that. Feels good knowing I'm not burning gas while I sleeping.
