Obviously the wire and plug advice is good, but I think Marty may be on to something. My SA (that I have for sale on photo ads - I added that was for Dave :))knocks the voice off my over the air digital tv.
The sa has all new wires and a new larger coil than original. That may be why it starts intantly.
My 300U's with original equipment do not affect the tv.
I am going to try isolating, or filtering, the SA coil and see what happens.
Most independent electronic supply stores have a wide range of filters.
I have never been happy with Radio Shacks selection of filters.
You might try an auto parts or auto dealership parts dept. also.
