Both started out as near hopeless, one a Carter, the other an old Zenith. They are still here, waiting for a solution.
The Carter was on the SuperC and I was never able to find a complete enough kit to get it running right. I keep half an eye on the posts around here for a source for a better, more complete kit, but nada.
The Zenith on the BN is probably not gonna be salvable. I hauled it out periodically when I'd have an hour or so between cuttin' grass and startin' supper and pick and scrub and poke at it, and at one time thought it ought to work, so tried it but, again, nada. But it had sat full of water for several years and, as clean as I have it, I expect that the ports in it (all of which I can pass light gauge guitar strings through) have suffered enough pitting and scaling of same type that makes the rest of the body and bowl look nasty, even when clean, that it may never come around. But it's here, waiting, in case a solution comes along.
