The OS-6 is the special or stripped version of the O-6. The O-6 orchard tractor had all of the full coverage streamlined fenders and shields. The OS-6 had the same low seating position as the O-6 but lacked the streamlined fenders, steel windshield and other shields. It's horsepower information reffers to Nebraska tests 354 and 355 which were for the W-6 which has the same power train. Test 354 on the distillate W-6 yielded 34.23 belt hp and 31.40 db hp corrected to sea level 36.69 belt hp and 32.80 db hp. Test 355 on the gasoline W-6 tielded 36.97 belt hp and 32.48 db hp corrected to sea level = 38.74 belt hp and 33.81 db hp. The tractor was also avaiable in diesel as the ODS-6. I don't have what the total production numbers of the OS-6 and ODS-6 were. Harold H Harold H

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
