For the ultimate performance from your factory pump, look for Charles Todd's 504 power beyond project. I would copy his method 95%. that tractor is about 70% the same as a 686 for this discussion. I think the 656/66/86 already have the 17gpm pump, so larger plumbing out of the pump to a new larger flow divider (giving priority to your steering) then your new power beyond valve stack, then to your existing remotes and you are set. you will lose some pretty-ness of the tractor because the factory setup is neat and clean, but hides the priority valve under the dash where there is no room to upgrade. Alternatively, you could put a power beyond valve stack in between the output of the flow divider valve and the current remote valve, but I think the stock equipment between the pump and remotes is restrictive and the stock locations do not give you a lot of physical space for modifications, although cutting the cowl panels may help.
I also think you could modify an IH-type power beyond plate to work on a 686 with enough motivation and creativity, but the original IH plate looks like there will be interference with your 3 point hitch control quadrant and your plumbing will get too close to the fender at narrower tread settings. you also will need an additional open-sided valve casting to install the plate.
