It seems to me our 1066 cranked just a little better with 12V. It really cranked good before I convinced dad that his navy-trained electrician wired two 12V in series and they needed to put them in parallel.
We never got any kind of longevity out of Deka batteries and were spending the money to get Interstates til we got the 2 12Vs in the 10. They lasted as long as the as the 6v interstates did.
I believe you need a pair or 2E (6v) or 2EE (12v), the 3E and 3EE size can rub a hole through your fuel tank.
