Baking soda will take the paint off a beer can but won't be effective on your tractor. On top of that, why pay a premium price for a product that will only deliver poor performance. Use what is available and cheap in your area such as sand, coal slag, or copper slag. You can make your own sand by drying it in your driveway and screening it. Plan for about 1000 lbs. Be careful that you do not warp the hood or flat sections of the grill cowl. Do sheetmetal on both sides to equalize stress caused by the peening effect of the abrasive. Remove all soft grease before sandblasting.
