Tried to free the exhaust heat valve in my distillate manifold, but it was stuck beyond anything freeable. The guy working with me on it said he could re-manufacture the internals, so we decided to just cut it all out. Glad we did, because below the valve it's a mess of rust!
There were two freeze plugs on the side. Both had holes that were filled with carbon. So we got those out, and I've started cleaning down in there. I'm going to scrape as much scale as I can out of there, then I'm going to throw it back in the electrolysis tank so the solution can get into those exposed areas.
Does anyone know of any place that has new heat valves and handles? I'm going to start searching the usual places, but I've never seen them offered. If I can't find them, we're just going to make then from scratch. (This guy is really good!)
