I pulled the engine oil pan off to check for a noise in that area. I found the oil pump pick up screen/tubing is resting on the oil pan. It appears to have been designed that way as there is no stop to prevent it from touching the pan. Is this normal for IH engines? I am used to seeing the screen slightly above the pan. The tractor is a 1967 IH 424 gas. Thanks for replies.
