I just stopped at the local Case IH dealership on the way home from work and I see theyve got a 1566 Farmall for sale I can tell shes been used pretty hard someone put some gray primer on the right side of the hood, cab is missing left door but windows are intact, tires are in excellent condition having 4 bar front tread and 20-8-38 rears, steering column is loose at the steering knuckle that allows the wheel to pivot up and down, have not heard it run yet, motor is clean with no evidence of ever being overhauled, hourmeter reads 2500 but cant be sure it is exact given that the tractor could use a lot of cosmetic work, if I buy this tractor I will definitely have to insulate that cab im sure it is quite noisy and I dont even know I any of the cab controls work, dont know of any faults to be wary of on the old 15s that a dealer migh try to throw the wool over my eyes on, and lastly I dont know if i can buy a front end loader for it because I dont belive IH ever made a loader to fit it because I do know the 2350 mount-o-matic was made for only as high up as the 1466. Any suggestions as to what to offer the dealership for the tractor for a price and as to how much a front end loader would be will be much appreciated.

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”.
