Apparantly you have a Super A seat and a 140 chassis. I can't really tell without seeing the tractor. From what you say I would use the serial on the clutch housing, not the one on the seat bracket. You might also post casting codes. They are in the form of Month*Day*Year. the year designation is a letter. 140's were made from 1958-1979 -- my info does not go that far.
