Okay, the number cast into the trans housing is the part number, not a 140 serial number.
The serial number under the seat indicates a very late 1954 Super A, just before the start of Super A-1 production (356001 is the first Super A-1 serial number).
Look for casting codes on the large parts, especially the engine. It should be as described earlier, in the format of XX-YY-A, month-day-year.
The year part of the date code should be a "Z" on all the cast parts. If the engine has a Z-code, then you have a Super A with 140 sheet metal.
