The engine on my '50 M is rebuilt, reassembled and ready to go back on the bell housing. Everything from the transmission forward up to and including the bell housing is rebuilt and the liftall is already in place. I have a new Rockford clutch and pressure plate ready to go, and the flywheel has been re-surfaced at the machine shop.
My question is about clutch adjustment. The blue ribbon manual describes the proceedure for adjusting the clutch through the liftall opening. I'm trying to avoid pulling the belly pump out again if possible. So do I need to remove the belly pump, or is there some technique I can use to to assure that the clutch is in adjustment before reinstalling the engine?
