Karl is right. I just had it in the back of my head it was a common one like the ph8a. The IH engine spin on filters are a 1" & 12 thread. The fram cross ref is PH 2842, PH6354, & PH6923. I just remember walking into to TSC and seeing a whole shelf of Fram filters that would work. Same for Walmart. Too bad I don't like fram anymore.
wixfilters.com has a good computer cross ref that you can put about any filter number in. Then you can bring up the specs including the filtration micron ratings. You can then go to O'reillys website who carry wix and it can tell you if your local store has it in stock or if they have to order it. That and/or a phone call saves a lot of driving.
One of the wix filters is shorter. You can look at the specs for all of them and decide which is better. Either I liked 51768 or that was the one in stock when I went there.
The IH numbers for hydraulic filters also cross ref with wix and oreillys carrys them.

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”. I’m par
