IH had its gold demo tractor program in 1970. This was used primarily to promote the IH HYDRO tractors at the time(544,656,826,1026) but all of the Farmalls made at the time COULD HAVE been painted gold/red in color. These tractors were to be used for demos and then sold.
The GOLD painted parts are as follows: entire hood, and fenders only. Rest of tractor is normal IH RED. A small black decal on each side of the rear hood cowling said "DEMONSTRATOR". There are no special sn# ranges to ID the IH Gold demos, other than the tractor MUST BE a 1970 model. I have restored/researched sevral of these.
