Yes I was thinking of using new valve seals anyway. I guess back in 1955 they may not have had seals available. I will get washers and use under all the head nuts. This makes sense as well. Did these engines normally crack the pistons? This engine had the overbore (3.625") kit installed with the stepped head pistons. Thanks for the info thus far.
