I like the complete drain, but instead of new gear oil to flush it , I save old hydraulic oil or atf. Keep it in a covered bucket to let the dirt settle and keep bugs out, then use this oil to flush with. Or drain 5 gal from your hyd system and use that , then replace that with new hyd oil , kinda freshen it up .......
