yes, I use a Hydro 86 with the D312 engine. The hydraulics work fine in the cold. Just a little slow when it's 20 below. The big thing with hydraulics is keep the moisture out. The D312 is a noisy engine and I'm half deaf. But it's bullet proof and will run forever. I know nothing about the German 310. They made the 656 in a Hydro too. It uses the 282 engine with glow plugs. It's a rock solid engine as well. None of them will have any power and if you are going to do any field work you want a gear drive. Of course I'm probably biased as both my gear drives, a 656 and a 666 have M&W turbos. There is no comparison between them and the Hydro 86. It's a dog.
