Grew up with wire-checked corn. Two items come to mind. Don't know about other brands, but my Dad's JD planter had a little lever that would release the wire when kicked with toe. Only had to move one stake at a time. Just place it behind the planter. With the stake close to the fence, & a 6 row headland, there would be enough slack so the wire angled to the side when coming back on the next row. Willie
