If you have a voltmeter put the black probe on the negative CABLE--not the post, on the battery. Attach the red probe to the positive CABLE at the battery--again- not the battery post. See what the battery voltage does when you try to start the engine. If the voltage drops to less than 4 volts when cranking, your terminals are probably not clean/ tight on the battery posts. Other possibility is a bad cell in the battery--unlikely with a new batt. If voltage remains high while trying to start the engine, the starter needs attention again, or switch/ solenoid problems.
