I am not sure either; but my point was that you cannot tell if one of these 140's left the factory as a Farmall or International once it has been re-painted and re-decaled. So you can do it as either one.
I assume that is the 2nd manual (12V genny) and I am pretty sure they kept printing that one unchanged from the first 12V in 1963 (s/n 26801) until the third and last edition came out for the 140's with alternator for s/n 62741 and up in 1976. That one has pictures of a Farmall 140 with Farmall on the rad and International on the hood.
I will defer to the authority of the late Hugh McKay who puts the death of the Farmall hood decal in 1968. This is consistent with all the data I have seen.
So it appears the Farmall hood decal (on a Farmall, obviously) is appropriate from s/n 23300 in 1963 (when they stopped using metal badges and went to the modern one-piece grill) to sometime in 1968--if you believe Hugh, and I do. After 1968, always International on the hood.

How did I get this way? I came from the suburbs and own a small horse farm in rural Loudoun County, Virginia. You can call me a "weekend farmer." The local farmers do. Does it bother me? No. I am just happy to have their friendship. At least the word "farmer" is in my title. But what is the attraction? How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
