Lincoln ag products makes plastic plates for IH planters. They have lots of sizes, but mostly for row crop stuff like beans, corn, sugar beets, etc.
Can you find the model number for the planter ? Since it is a for an A, SA, 140, is it a vegetable planter ? If so, $350 for a planter (one row I assume) is not too bad if it is all there and in working condition. However, finding plates for one of those might be another issue.
I saw that you were looking for information on planters a while ago. A friend of mine uses Stanhay planters. He likes them a lot, but they take a special belt for each type of seed.
Have you looked at the Roeters in Michigan or Market Farm Implement in Pennsylvania (?) websites ? Sometimes that have planters, but they are not giving stuff away either.
