My dad just finished restoring an H. It has a shine that would put them all to shame. First thing is steam clean the living day lights out of it, then steam it some more and yet some more. We stripped every part off the H and painted it but I have seen some really great paint jobs where the person took off only the wheels, gas tank and sheet metal and it looked great when they were finished. As far as a grill goes my brother in law owns a body shop and he spent 8 hrs straightening it and it looked perfect before he started. We used valspar primer from farm and fleet. its the pro line of primer, and 2150 CIH paint with hardener and clearcoat over that. Dont use martin senour paint from napa, its just a bunch of crap, your tractor will look good for two years then rapidly fade.
