I'd use any multi-purpose hydraulic oil in the hydraulic pump. Dextron would be a good choice if you have no tractor oil supplier. You can get that at Wal-mart. The books recommend non-detergent motor oil for the hydraulic (Lift-All) pump. But they did not have the oils available then that we have today. In fact, I have several pints of additive that was sold by IH to try to upgrade the motor oil to a spec nearer hydraulic fluid. So even then they knew that non-detergent motor oil was not completely adequate for the hydraulic system.
