Here is how I mounted alternator on son's SC. 1st I took alternator apart and drill the end of armature and taped with 7/16th NF thread, to use the pulley off the 6v generator. I want ed this as to keep the alternator lower. I the bent a 1"x1" angle iron 5" long to support the back alternator, which is bolted to back and bolted in the existing bolt for original generator bracket. As you can see I painted alternator red so it does not stand out quite as bad as the original alternator color.
