Bot do I feel like an idiot. I took advice from fine people here and triple checked my battery cables. You definitely cannot go by looks for a good connection. I gave the neg. cable a couple taps with the hammer and voila, she started. Well I figured enough is enough with these old cables and went to the local parts store for 2 new cables. $35 for a 1 gauge 65" cable and $9 for a braided neg. strap and she fires right up every time. Thanks for all the helpful advice. On a funnier note, my neighbor brought over his newer snowblower as he couldn't get it started, he's about 70. Well, after a quick assessment I put some gasoline in it and it started right up. Had a good chuckle over that one.
