My H did the same thing a while back. I discovered that the fuel filter was likely at fault. There was a paper filter inline and it, and the junk in it, had dried out during the Winter to the point that it would not allow enough fuel to pass through. A bit of seepage allowed the engine to run a few minutes but not enough to keep it running. After the engine stopped, gas would trickle back into the carb bowl and then allow the tractor to be started again.
Part of this might have been caused by some rust in the bottom of the tank, too. I fixed both potential problems by removing the filter and applying Red Kote plastic tank sealer. The tractor runs great now.
