rustred, Once again to are exactly right, there is a big knob at the top of the "big" bowl, OK I now know that is the mail fuel flow adjustment, there are two small screw type needle valve adjustments on the main bowl two ? do you have any idea's on what they might be for ? if I could find a good starting point at which to screw them all the way in then back them off so many turns that would be great or find out what there functions are ? to answer your question if I soaked the carb in a type of cleaner, I did not, I suppose I should have but I did spray all the ports and passages out well with brake cleaner which we use all the time at Cummins to clean up parts, seems to work very well.
