Another serial # question

I've got a question for you guys that really know this stuff. I've got a C farmall. No water pump, and has band type brakes. The serial number tag on the seat says its serial # 76878. the engine # is FCM 78594. According to the serial #s I've seen posted the C didn't go that high...whats the deal?? I'd bet this serial number is correct and that the tag has not been changed or anything like that. I'd appreciate any info. you could give me. Thanks in advance.
