Just doesn't have the same effect in ice that it does in liquid state, does it? I dump mine in November and refresh it in the Spring. I don't think there is enough movement in the solution to keep it solid without some type of heat element. If your tank is small a chicken fount heater might work. Larger tanks are going to be trickier. Not sure what gases are coming off that solution but make sure there isn't a combustion worry.
