The hydraulic pump squalls for about 0.5 seconds whenever you let go of the hydraulic handle after actuating the cylinder. It is quiet as long as the handle is fully actuated or not actuated at all, but if it is only pulled slightly (like to move a cyclinder slowly) the pump squalls and it pulls the engine down. I thought maybe the unloading valve was sticking so I took it apart and cleaned it up. When in the valve I found two washers under the spring, which I assume was a previous owner"s way of increasing pressure. I removed them with hopes this would fix the problem, but it didn"t help. Also, I don"t think it would affect anything, but the fast hitch has been removed. All of the mechanism to the tel-a-depth is still on the side of the tractor, but is not hooked to anything and the linkage from the handle is also unhooked. It seems this shouldn"t affect anything since both sides are unhooked and due to the differential gears the spool cannot be moved with both sides unhooked. I thought maybe it would be worth adding. Any idea what could be causing the noise?
My 560 was having the same problem when I got it and the orifice assembly in the regulatory & safety valve was plugged up with crap, mainly what appeared to be silicone from the previous owner. The screen that is supposed to prevent things from plugging the tiny orifice had been ruptured so I had to buy a new assembly. The thing is only about 2 inches long and smaller around than a pencil but if I remember right it cost $50 or $60 from the local CIH Dealer. After I replaced that, along with tearing down all the control valves to dig all the silicone out of them, everything works great, with new filter and fluid of course.
