You need to do the "process of elimination" to determine whether its a fuel problem or an ignition problem.
With the ignition switch in the on position pull off a plug wire and have someone make an attempt to start the engine. You there's good hot spark to your plug you can eliminate the ignition. Then check the fuel system. Pull the gas line at the carburetor and see if there's a full stream of gas from the tank. If that looks ok pull the tube fitting from the carburetor and look for a screen that may be blocked with rust or dirt behind the fitting. You should have gas running out the carburetor bowl if you pull the plug. Hold your hand over the throat of the carburetor while someone makes an attempt to start the engine. There should be good suction on your hand. You need good intake manifold vacuum to suck that fuel into the engine. To have good vaccum you need good rings & sleeves not worn plus good valves that are seating and are not leaking. Hal
