Oval should have the fewer decibels because it is not a straight through muffler but has more back pressure. As for correct sorry I can not remember back that long and all the times I played on the 706/806/906s when I was a kid. Neighbor owned the IH dealer ship so I was able to sit on and play one many of those tractors back when I was say 10-12 years old. Sure wish now I had kept a bunch of the sales papers from back then they would have been a blast from my past and probably worth some nice $$
