F-20 engine block and engine rebuilt kits

I have 1937 Farmall F-20. it runs real good. there were a crack in outside the block, but there is no crack inside the block because the water did not come in oil. I put a putty weld on the block to keep water leak. do you think that putty weld will work? i went 2 different welding shop they said that they can't weld it, they were afraid to more crack. if you think that putty weld will not working, then i am looking for a block and rebuilding kit(sleeves, main bearing, cylinders , etc....)thank you so much
