Super A Brakes

Has anyone ever updated their Super A brakes from the old style with the rod attatched to the band to the new style with the rocker linkage? The advantage seems to be that the brakes will work as good when backing up as going forward which is not the case now. If there is anyone, would they explain how difficult it was, the parts necessary and the benefits. Thank you. Ed.
