Maybe not a good idea.Detroit Diesel always recommended a single grade oil for the 2 cycle engines,at least the 53 and 71 series. The problem was and is still the engine running away and wildly overspeeding whatever is coupled to it. What happens in a worn engine is it sucks the oil up out of the oil pan and burns it with great smoke and noise,they stop after consuming all the oil or throwing a rod. If it were mine i would stick to a single grade(viscosity) 30 or 40 weight oil. That^s what Detroit has said for years
