I got the steering box tore down . Parts cleaned up , dropped steering box shaft off at machine shop to remove old race and press new bearing on , I have noticed some pitting on shaft where oil seal runs . Question would you have the machine shop turn the shaft and remove the pitting and put in a different size oil seal ? Slight pitting ? Some have said they filled gear box with grease , others said they had filled gear box with STP , manual recommends a 135 weight oil . What are your thoughts ? Someone had tried to fill gear box with grease , it filled uppers bearing and nothing else stopped up flow holes to rest of gear box . When I took it apart it was full of water , LOL Your thoughts please Thank you
