On my SMTA I have to throw three or four sets around for tractor pulling. I took a couple smooth rods and put them in two holes and they act as centering pins.
It is not a perfect setup bc the weights must move enough to eat up the cotter pin on the inside to hold the pin in place. I use all thread to hold the weights on and this is not ideal either bc it comes loose over time when doing field work. I suppose if I were to use this setup for more than 300' trips I would double nut it and that should hold it tight.
