My father (and I) used a 1938 F-12 with this lift for at least 13 years. Admittedly, it was used only with the cultivators in the summer. We never had any trouble with the vane. I don"t know offhand if this lift was used with anything else than the cultivators. I DO know that it was not used on the mounted 7 ft. mower, and THAT really needed some help. My right shoulder still aches, and its been 60 years since I last lifted that thing.
