I never installed a M&W tenderfoot, however I do adjust one on a regular basis for someone. What they do is lock up both clutch packs,(direct drive and ta lock up ) so as to positively stop the trans shaft and gears from turning so you don't scratch gears when shifting into gear. Trick is, you never fully depress the clutch pedal until gears have slowed down and tractor is not rolling. It is that last little bit of movement of pedal that diverts the oil to both clutch packs. Tricky to adjust and use. I don't know for sure what modifications are made in the mcv as I have never even seen installation instructions. Personally, I don't like them and IH sure did not and it voided all warranty on power train if there was any at time of installation. With that being said, this guy has had it on tractor for at least 20 years and likes it. Did custom round baleing for many years with that tractor so much stopping and starting.
