The I-4, I-6 and I-9 series tractors had different gear ratios than the W-4, W-6 and W-9 series tractors. I also believe the arrangement of the gear selection order was also different. As the counter-shaft gear ratios were different the PTO ran faster than the 540 rpm of the W series. The brakes were often different and hydraulic brakes were an option.
