As usual, Pete 23 has good advice. If you leave the precups in the head they may have moved enough to allow some leakage past the gasket which will then allow carbon to build up between the head and precup making them very difficult to remove in the future.
I misread his post, I thought me meant the oring and the metal thing.
How in the world will I get the precups out now!?! It was bad enough getting the injectors out.
